Traditional ink wash on paper mounted to silk.
Scroll 1 (Left): Bamboo and rock composition in expressive ink wash technique with calligraphic inscription. Signed with red seal. Mounted on mottled gold-tan silk with decorative border.
Scroll 2 (Center): Minimalist willow tree composition with cascading branches beside a waterfall or cliff, executed with delicate brushwork. Includes signature and two red seals. Mounted on tan silk.
Scroll 3 (Right): Bold cursive calligraphy (sōsho/草書) in dynamic, flowing script reading vertically. Signed with two red seals and calligraphic inscription. Unmounted on paper with yellow silk border reinforcement.
All three scrolls are accompanied by storage boxes or wrappings with calligraphic inscriptions. These works demonstrate the literati tradition of combining poetry, calligraphy, and painting, likely dating from the mid-to-late 20th century with varying states of preservation.
Variable sizes, approximately up to 6 ft high by up to 24 in wide. Total weight is approximately 3 lbs.
Condition
Discoloration throughout. Some foxing. Scratches and scuffs. Holes from insects. Some lift between material layers. Creasing throughout calligraphy scroll.
Available payment options
Precious metal purchases over $5,000 must be paid with a wire transfer and must be shipped to the same address as the billing address. We accept credit card, PayPal, Zelle, cash and wire transfers for payment. There is a 3.5% convenience fee on all credit card and PayPal payments.
