Africa, Mid to late 20th Century. Chokwe or related people of Angola, Africa. Bark stretched over cane frame with fabric fringe beard. Called "Chikunza", this mask represented a revered ancestor associated with fertility, hunting, and protection of the local people. Overall good condition commensurate with age and use. Approx. 36 in. H x 12 in. W. Weight: 15 lbs. 12 oz.Â
