Eugene Dobos was born in Warsaw Poland. He resided in Germany from 1943 to 1951. He moved to Chicago in 1951. He is a graduate of the American Academy of Art in Chicago where he studied under William Mosby. He also studied painting and sculpture at the Art Students League in New York where hes instructors included George Grosz, Sidney Dickenson, Morris Kantor, John Hovannes and William Zorach.
He was the recipient of two first prizes at the New Mexico State Fair in 1964.
