Oil on canvas. Titled "Mexican Souvenirs." Note om reverse reads "Probably #254 in 1948." Good condition. Pin hole in canvas towards bottom center. Frame is separating at corners. Visible approx. 24.5 x 29.75 in. Frame approx. 29.5 x 35 in. Weight 6 lbs.

Born in New Washington, OH on Aug. 26, 1888.  Elsie Brown studied at the Columbus Art Institute.  She wed Henry Grossman in 1911 and settled in Los Angeles in 1927.  Locally, she further studied with G. Thompson Pritchard and Nell Walker Warner.  She was active in the local art scene as an exhibitor of coastals and landscapes.  Mrs. Grossman died in Los Angeles of cancer of the uterus on Dec. 22, 1949.
