Spain, 18th Century. Wood Santos figure depicting the Archangel Michael slaying the dragon. Approx. 23.25 in. H x 8 in. W x 7 in. D. Weight: 2 lbs. Scattered losses to paint and gesso throughout. One finger on upraised hand is missing. 1.25" x 1" loss to back of leg exposing wood foundation. Heavy wear and paint loss to dragon. Marked to underside: "Mexico/ 1970 (possibly when and where purchased), tag affixed to underside: Mexico - very old archangel. .. slaying the dragon"
