Circa 1883 Steinway 'A' 85 note piano with ebony finish. Serial number 50870. Pedal sustain newly repaired. Used to have a pianocorder, was gutted. Ebony cabinet: refinished 20 years ago, lid is scratched and marked. Keytops: Replaced plastic materials, repainted ebony sharps. Soundboard: Lots of shinnard cracks, bearing seems good. Bridges and Ribs: Reglued ribs, seam OK, bridges are OK. Plate: Excellent, no welding repairs. Strings: Wire replaced about 20 years ago, some oxidation, bass strings are starting to lose tone. Pinblock: Was replaced about 20 years ago. Dampers: New damper peds, new guide bushings, original back action. Lyre/Pedals: Linkage was replaced when pianocorder was installed in the 1970s, needs work. Hammers: Replaced 20 years ago with superior hammers. Knuckles: New shanks from 20 years ago. Flanges: New action parts from 20 years ago. Wippens: New wippens from 20 years ago. Back Checks: Back checks were replaced 20 years ago. Key Bushings: New key bushings from 20 years ago. Regulation: Needs some regulation adjustment.
